FOOTBIKING DEMO DAYS
We are seeing an unprecidented amount of visitors coming to our website everyday. Most of them send in an email asking us where they can check out a Footbike, often with an inquiry about which local bike shop has them so they can go for a demo kick.
When we started this company and began kicking our Footbike’s around the country, we thought what many of you think. If the people love them, then the bike shops are going to crazy over them! Easy to assemble, one size fits many, they ride great and they stop traffic.
Here is what we REALLY discovered in Bike Shop Land. Bike Shops want to make more money per unit than we can afford to pay them=Strike 1. A Footbike fits both sexes and sizes from small to tall, a customer is not going to be buying a new Footbike each year to accomodate a growing younger customer=Strike 2. A Footbike owner is not going to be bringing their Footbike back to the Bike Shop for endless tuneups and upgrades or replacements of worn out gears, derailers, pedals, saddles, chainrings, bottom brackets, shifters, and shifter cables=Strike 3. A Footbike buyer is not going to need a special pair of clipless shoes, or bike shorts, or a bike jersey=Strike 4 (this ain’t baseball).
However, footbikers make more footbikers. People that love them can’t wait to tell you why, so a happy Footbike customer makes more happy Footbike customers. Unfortunately for those that want to go check one out at your local Bike Shop, that is not going to happen until the Bike Shops see racks of Footbikes stuffed into the local bus stop. Then and only then will they want to join the party. Yet all is not lost!
We have a growing legion of representatives around the country that are eager to provide you with a place to come Try and Buy your very own Footbike. Many of these representatives are professional kickers and have a broad knowledge of the sport and the positive impact it has on your mind and body. Unless you are a person that has read all the reviews, watched all of the posted videos, and surfed every corner of the internet to convince yourself that you are going to be a footbiker—then you are part of the population that wants to taste it, chew on the corners, and discover the truth face to face.
Hence if you are in Southern California and you want to get out the day before Thanksgiving to rock those scooters then take a look at www.santacruzmarketingco.com and meet Cruzer and the gang for a little pre-turkey workout. We will be posting our demo days as they are scheduled. You can also check out our Dealers Page and contact the nearest representative in your area. If you don’t see one then send us an email and we will let you know what we know. Or if you want to live on the wild side, go down and harass you local Bike Shop into carrying a few Footbikes, we will see what we can do.
Just Kick It!

Mo,
Your third paragraph with “Strike 1 - 4″ is painfully true. I’ve thought that eventually the bike shops would like to carry Footbikes, giving up very little floor display space. That just isn’t likely to happen unless unless the shop is a small outdoor sports business in Helsinki and you’re trying to market your product to be part of the national identity.
The truth also is that Footbikes are fun, cheap,
and a great exercise. The part where they become fast or practical transportation takes a little more effort but the paybacks are greater, too.
Eventually, you’ll wear out some parts both on the Footbike and yourself and then the bike shop and some sleep will fix them up quickly. Maybe you wouldn’t want to sleep at the bike shop, though…
